How to sell a .si domain
Auction X · Updated 3 November 2026
Short answer
Verify that you own the domain by adding one DNS record, set up payouts, and list it at auction or at a fixed price. When it sells you change the holder to the buyer at your registrar; once the registry confirms it, you're paid, minus a 5% commission and a transaction fee covering Stripe's costs, at cost. Listing is free.
Before you list
- •Make sure the domain is valid for at least 45 more days. Renew it first if needed.
- •Make sure it isn't locked or in a dispute at your registrar.
- •Have access to the domain's DNS settings: you'll add one record to prove ownership.
Listing on Auction X
- 01Enter your domain on the Sell page.
- 02Add the TXT record we give you. We confirm it through several DNS resolvers and check the domain with Register.si.
- 03Set up payouts once. Identity and bank checks are done by Stripe inside Auction X; it takes about five minutes.
- 04Choose an auction (with an optional reserve and buy-now price) or a fixed price, write a one-line pitch, and publish.
After it sells
- 01Start the holder change to the buyer at your registrar within 2 days.
- 02Auction X watches the registry and confirms the new holder automatically.
- 03The buyer is charged, your share moves to your payout balance, and after a 24-hour inspection window it's paid to your bank.
Fees
No listing fee and no fee if it doesn't sell. A 5% commission plus a transaction fee, Stripe's card and payout costs passed on at cost, when the sale completes. No monthly fees. Payouts go to bank accounts in the EU and EEA, the UK, Switzerland, the US and Canada.
Questions
- How do I prove I own a .si domain?
- Add a one-time TXT record we give you to the domain's DNS. Only someone in control of the domain can do that, and we also check the domain's registry record.
- When do I get paid for my .si domain?
- After the registry confirms the buyer is the new holder and a 24-hour inspection window passes, or sooner if the buyer confirms.
- What if the buyer doesn't pay?
- Bids are backed by a hold on the buyer's card before the auction ends, so the money is reserved before you start the transfer.
